Honningsvåg Airport, Valan serves the communities of Honningsvåg, Karmøyvær, Gjesvær and Skarsvåg. The only scheduled destination from Honningsvåg is Tromsø via Hammerfest with connecting flights to Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. The airport has around 36 000 passenger yearly and was built in 1977. The famous North Cape plateau is situated a few miles north of the airport.
