Learning the more complex things

By now you have gone back and forth between Arlanda and Malmö way too many times.

This document tells you how to get started with the very basics.

Holding patterns

Oh dear! Now ATC is causing delays again. Why is it you can't go directly to the airport... Well ATC is playing a game called "Pack'em - Rack'en - Stack'em".

Learn how to play along!

Multible altitudes

If you fly the big birds you might have to do a "Step-climb" in order to get the best fuel-economy. This means starting cruise at a "low" FL like FL270 and slowly as you burn fuel climb in steps to your final FL. If you are headed towards Russia you also need to fly in meters instead of feet.

Confused? Read how to do and what to write in the flightplan here.

DME arc approach

When looking at the map this looks quite hard. But knowing the tecniques makes it a piece of cake.

Circling approach

In this lesson you'll learn that is actually is possibel to land on a runway without an ILS.

Procedure turn

If no ATC in online to vector you to the ILS you'll have to do it by you self! One way of doing it is the procedure turn. Better learn it.

Emergencies Radio failiure and other "fun things"

Some pilots find the un-normal situations like emergencies funny. However VATSIM isn't that freindly towards the use of squawk 7500 7600 7700 whaich is the squawk codes for Hijacking - Radio failure and emergency.

So before using them you better learn how to.

If you encounter problems or just have a question please don’t hesitate to ask at the vaccsca forum

Happy landings and see you online
